Deborah Young
Deborah Young is director of operations and a program specialist at the Quaglia Institute for School Voice and Aspirations, where she supports work on student voice and aspirations in schools. She began her career as a classroom teacher and has teaching experience in both public and private schools. Her work emphasizes mutual respect between teachers and students and the importance of honoring the voices of all members of the school community.
Young is a coauthor of The Power of Voice in Schools: Listening, Learning, and Leading Together (ASCD, 2020), written with Russ Quaglia, Kristine Fox, and Lisa Lande. She is also coauthor of Parent Voice: Being in Tune with Your Kids and Their School (Corwin, 2017), further extending her focus on family and school partnerships around voice and aspirations.
