Denise Eide
Denise Eide is an author, educator, speaker, and curriculum designer specializing in literacy instruction and the science of reading. She is the founder, president, and CEO of Logic of English, a mission-driven educational publisher that develops reading and spelling curricula for learners of all ages. Eide has worked in the field of literacy instruction since the mid-1990s, including teaching English as a Second Language at a Russian university and establishing a literacy center for Russian and Ukrainian immigrants. She was trained in Curriculum and Instruction, Second Languages and Cultures at the University of Minnesota.
Eide is the author of the multiple award‑winning book _Uncovering the Logic of English: A Common‑Sense Approach to Reading, Spelling, and Literacy_, originally published in 2011 and later issued in a second edition in 2012. Her work underpins the Logic of English Foundations and Essentials curricula and focuses on explaining English spelling through phonograms and spelling rules, challenging the idea that English is inherently illogical. In addition to her writing, Eide is a national speaker who presents on literacy, systematic phonics, and the science of reading to educators across the United States.
