Didier Levy

Didier Lévy is a French children’s author, born in 1964 and based in Paris, who began his career as a journalist before dedicating himself full-time to writing for young readers. He has written well over a hundred children’s books—many sources cite figures from “over forty” to “about three hundred” titles—published by houses such as L’École des loisirs, Nathan, Albin Michel, Sarbacane, and others, and his work is noted for its humor, sensitivity and multi-layered appeal to both children and adults.

Lévy is the author of Jojo and the Food Fight!, a 2018 picture book illustrated by Nathalie Dieterlé and published by Barefoot Books, in which a young elephant helps end a chaotic jungle food fight through creativity and empathy. His broader catalogue includes popular titles such as How to Light Your Dragon, Life with My Dragon, Morris and the Magic of Stories, and various successful series including “Cajou” and “La fée Coquillette,” further establishing him as a prominent contemporary voice in children’s literature.
