Donald M. Silver

Donald M. Silver is a research scientist–trained author who has written more than 40–80 science books for students and teachers, including the award‑winning “One Small Square” series that introduces young readers to plants and animals in close-up ecological habitats. His work has earned recognition such as the Children’s Science Writing Award in Physics and Astronomy from the American Institute of Physics.

Silver frequently collaborates with illustrator Patricia J. Wynne on science and nature titles, including “The Body Book: Easy‑to‑Make Hands‑On Models That Teach,” “Easy Make and Learn Projects: The Human Body,” and several “My First Book About…” volumes (covering topics such as physics, outer space, the body, and the brain).
