Donna Wilson
Donna Wilson is an educational and school psychologist, teacher educator, and author whose work focuses on applying mind, brain, and education science to improve teaching and learning. She is a faculty member with ASCD and speaks internationally on topics such as developing growth mindsets and increasing student learning. Wilson is cofounder, president, and academic team leader of BrainSMART, Inc., as well as of the not-for-profit Center for Innovative Education and Prevention (CIEP).
Wilson has authored or coauthored more than 20 books for educators, including Developing Growth Mindsets: Principles and Practices for Maximizing Students’ Potential (ASCD, 2020), Teaching Students to Drive Their Brains (2016), Five Big Ideas for Effective Teaching: Connecting Mind, Brain, and Education Research to Classroom Practice (2013), Smarter Teacher Leadership (2016), and Introduction to BrainSMART Teaching (2018). She previously served as chair of education at the University of Detroit Mercy and has been a lead developer of graduate programs with majors in brain-based teaching.
