Dwayne Reed is a Chicago-based educator, author, rapper, and keynote speaker widely known as “America’s Favorite Rapping Teacher.” He first gained national attention when his back-to-school rap video “Welcome to the 4th Grade” went viral, leading to appearances on programs such as Good Morning America and campaigns with major brands including Old Navy. Reed is the creator and CEO of TeachMrReed, a global education platform focused on making learning fun and engaging, and he regularly presents at educator conferences and workshops across the United States.
As an author, Reed has written the middle-grade novel Simon B. Rhymin’, which has been featured in the National Education Association’s Read Across America program, as well as Be THAT Teacher: Rehumanizing Education with Unapologetic Authenticity, a professional book for educators that outlines core principles and practical strategies for building authentic, student-centered classrooms. He is also known for educational music videos and songs such as “Welcome to the 4th Grade,” “Welcome to Kindergarten,” and “My Teacher Loves Me,” which he uses to connect with students and promote a joyful, relationship-driven approach to teaching.
