Edson Ike

Edson Ikê is a Brazilian illustrator, designer, and graphic artist whose bold, dynamic digital artwork brings a strong sense of motion and emotion to children’s books and other projects. He illustrated Soccerverse: Poems about Soccer, written by Elizabeth Steinglass, contributing vibrant, diverse, and energetic images that have been praised for complementing the collection’s playful and imaginative verse.

Ikê works with a range of techniques, including xilogravura (woodcut), and is known for visual themes that draw on Afro-Brazilian culture, jazz, and popular urban aesthetics. In addition to Soccerverse, he has illustrated other children’s titles in Brazil, such as Cada bicho um seu canto, Zumbi assombra quem?, No balanço da maré, and the Elza Soares biographical picture book Elza: A voz do milênio.
