Elaine Daniels
Elaine Daniels is a reading and writing teacher and literacy educator who has taught students at multiple levels, from high school through college and graduate programs. A former high school English teacher, she went on to teach in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at National-Louis University and later in literacy education courses at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She currently teaches in the Developmental Reading and Writing Programs at Santa Fe Community College.
Daniels is coauthor, with Harvey “Smokey” Daniels, of The Best-Kept Teaching Secret: How Written Conversations Engage Kids, Activate Learning, Grow Fluent Writers . . . K–12, a Corwin Literacy title that introduces and explains classroom structures such as mini-memos, dialogue journals, write-arounds, and digital discussions to promote active learning and more fluent student writing.
