Elizabeth M. Kelly

Elizabeth M. Kelly, Ph.D., BCBA, is a behavior analyst and educator whose work focuses on ethics in applied behavior analysis, behavior supports in schools, and family–school partnerships. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis from the University of Washington in 2021 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2013. Kelly has held roles as a teaching associate in the Applied Behavior Analysis program in the College of Education at the University of Washington and as a researcher at the Haring Center for Inclusive Education.

Kelly is the co‑author of Ethical Decision Making in Applied Behavior Analysis (Brookes Publishing, 2025), written with Ilene S. Schwartz, which is designed to help students and practitioners navigate complex ethical issues in ABA and apply the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s ethics code in diverse service settings. She has also co‑authored peer‑reviewed work on ethical decision making in behavior analysis, including research on how behavior analysts make ethical decisions in practice and on developing principles to guide ethical conduct.
