Elizabeth T. Dexter-Mazza
Elizabeth T. Dexter-Mazza, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist, certified DBT therapist, and president and cofounder of DBT in Schools. She is a codeveloper of the DBT STEPS-A and DBT STEPS-E curricula and completed her postdoctoral fellowship under Marsha M. Linehan at the University of Washington, where she also served as a clinical director and research therapist for Linehan’s DBT studies.
Dr. Dexter-Mazza received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University in 2004 and has published book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on dialectical behavior therapy, borderline personality disorder, and training clinicians to manage suicidal clients. She also coauthored DBT Skills in Schools: Skills Training for Emotional Problem Solving for Adolescents (DBT STEPS-A) and DBT Skills in Elementary Schools: Skills Training for Emotional Problem Solving in Grades K–5 (DBT STEPS-E).
