Elizabeth Verdick
Elizabeth Verdick is an award-winning American children’s author who writes a mix of nonfiction and fiction for young readers, from babies and toddlers through teens. A graduate of Carleton College and Hamline University’s MFA program in Writing for Children and Young Adults, she previously worked as a children’s book editor and has taught picture‑book writing classes and offered manuscript critiques for other writers. She has been writing books for children since 1997 and lives in Minnesota, near St. Paul, with her family and pets.
Verdick is best known for her Best Behavior, Toddler Tools, Laugh & Learn, and Happy, Healthy Baby series, which focus on social and emotional development and have received multiple honors, including the Henry Bergh Award, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Book, Gold Mom’s Choice Award, and iParenting Media Award – Excellent Product.
