Ellen Javernick

Ellen Javernick is a children’s author and longtime elementary school teacher based in Loveland, Colorado. She has written more than twenty children’s books, including the bestselling picture book What If Everybody Did That?, illustrated by Colleen Madden, and The Birthday Pet, illustrated by Kevin O’Malley, which was a Children’s Choice Book Award finalist. Javernick has taught elementary school for over twenty years and currently teaches kindergarten, a classroom experience that informs the themes and situations in her books.

In addition to What If Everybody Did That?, she is also the author of What If Everybody Said That? in the same series, as well as numerous other illustrated titles aimed at encouraging positive behavior and social awareness in young readers. Her work, including What If Everybody Did That?, has reached a wide audience; her debut book has sold over a million copies.
