Emily Nagoski
Emily Nagoski, PhD, is an American sex educator, researcher, and author, best known as co-author of Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle and for her work on women’s sexual wellbeing and stress. She holds a PhD in Health Behavior with a concentration in human sexuality and a master’s degree in Counseling, both from Indiana University, where she completed clinical and research training at the Kinsey Institute. She began her career as a peer sex educator while studying psychology at the University of Delaware and later served for eight years as Director of Wellness Education at Smith College, where she taught courses on women’s sexuality and wellbeing before becoming a full-time writer and speaker.
Nagoski is the award‑winning author of the New York Times bestseller Come As You Are: The Surprising New Science That Will Transform Your Sex Life, its companion Come As You Are Workbook, and co-author, with her sister Amelia Nagoski, of Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle. Her work focuses on translating the science of sexuality, stress, and mental health into accessible education, and she teaches and speaks internationally about women’s sexual wellbeing, healthy relationships, and the prevention of sexual violence and harassment.
