Eric P. Jensen

Eric Jensen is a former teacher and educational leader and a pioneer in brain-based teaching and learning, known for translating neuroscience research into practical strategies for classrooms. He holds an MA in organizational development and a PhD in human development, and has authored more than 30 books on equity, student engagement, and brain-compatible learning, including Teaching with Poverty in Mind, Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind: Practical Strategies for Raising Achievement, Poor Students, Rich Teaching: Mindsets for Change, Teaching with the Brain in Mind, Brain-Based Learning, and Turnaround Tools for the Teenage Brain.

Jensen cofounded SuperCamp, widely described as the first and largest brain-compatible academic enrichment program, which has operated in over a dozen countries and served tens of thousands of students. He is a member of the invitation-only Society for Neuroscience and has been listed among the Top 30 Global Gurus in Education. Since the early 1990s, he has focused on helping educators apply brain research to improve learning for students, particularly those affected by poverty, and continues to provide professional development internationally on equity, student engagement, brain-based learning, and school change.
