Eric M. Anderman

Eric M. Anderman is a professor of educational psychology and of quantitative research, evaluation, and measurement in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. He holds a B.S. from Tufts University, an Ed.M. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Michigan. A Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Educational Research Association, Anderman serves as editor of the journal Theory Into Practice and has published over 100 peer‑reviewed articles and chapters on topics including academic motivation, academic cheating, adolescent health and risky behavior, and violence against educators.

Anderman is the author of Sparking Student Motivation: The Power of Teachers to Rekindle a Love for Learning and co‑editor of Visible Learning Guide to Student Achievement with John Hattie, a revised and expanded version of the International Guide to Student Achievement. His other book projects include co‑authoring the textbooks Educational Psychology: Developing Learners, Adolescent Development for Educators, and Classroom Motivation: Linking Research to Teacher Practice, as well as co‑editing the 3rd edition of the Handbook of Educational Psychology and Psychology of Classroom Learning: An Encyclopedia.[12
