    Ewa Domnagala-Zyśk

    Ewa Domagała-Zyśk is a university professor and researcher in special education and language pedagogy at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), Poland, where she works in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Pedagogy. She serves as head of the Chair of Special Pedagogy and coordinates the special pedagogy program at KUL, and has been teaching and researching in the field of education for deaf and hard of hearing learners since the late 1990s. Her main scholarly contribution is the development of the scientific foundations of surdoglottodydaktyka—the didactics of foreign language teaching for people with hearing impairments.

    Domagała-Zyśk is recognized as a pioneer of teaching English as a foreign language to deaf university students in Poland, having launched an innovative “English for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing” course in 1999 and continuing to teach English to deaf and hard of hearing students and adults. She is editor or co-editor of several works on foreign language education for deaf and hard of hearing learners, including English as a Foreign Language for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Learners: Teaching Strategies and Interventions and *Learning English as a Foreign Language for
