Farshid Safi
Farshid Safi is an Associate Professor of K–12 Mathematics Education and Associate Director for Teaching and Service in the School of Teacher Education at the University of Central Florida’s College of Community Innovation and Education. His research and professional work focus on developing teachers’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, emphasizing connections and coherence across topics while supporting equitable mathematical experiences for students and teachers.
Safi is a coauthor of Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching High School: Understanding How to Use Functions (Solution Tree Press, 2016), written with Edward C. Nolan, Juli K. Dixon, and Erhan Selcuk Haciomeroglu. He has been deeply involved in mathematics teacher education nationally, including long-term participation and leadership roles in the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, where he has served as president.
