Geoffrey Caine

Geoffrey Caine (1946–2018) was a learning consultant, process coach, and author known for his work on brain-based approaches to teaching and learning. He served as a director of Caine Learning LLC and co-directed the Caine Learning Center, focusing on the application of neuroscience and psychology to natural learning in education, business, and government. Earlier in his career, he was a professor of law and constitutional scholar in Australia, and held roles including Education Services Manager for a national software company, state manager for a national publishing company, and national director of the Mind/Brain Network of the American Society for Training and Development.

Caine co-authored multiple influential works with Renate Nummela Caine and others, including Making Connections: Teaching and the Human Brain, MindShifts: A Brain-Based Process for Restructuring Schools, and 12 Brain/Mind Learning Principles in Action: Teach for the Development of Higher-Order Thinking and Executive Function, as well as other books, articles, and chapters on learning and education. His consulting and speaking took him across the United States and internationally, where he worked with schools, educational organizations, nonprofits, foundations, businesses, and government agencies on implementing brain-compatible, natural learning practices.[
