George Couros

George Couros is a Canadian educator, speaker, and author known for his work on innovative teaching, learning, and leadership. Over more than 20 years in education, he has worked at all K–12 levels as a teacher, technology facilitator, school administrator, and district administrator. He is currently an Innovative Teaching, Learning, and Leadership Consultant and speaker, and serves as an Adjunct Instructor with the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

Couros is the author of The Innovator’s Mindset: Empower Learning, Unleash Talent, and Lead a Culture of Creativity, and co‑author of Innovate Inside the Box: Empowering Learners Through UDL and the Innovator’s Mindset with Katie Novak. His work focuses on helping educators build cultures of innovation that prioritize relationships, creativity, and student‑centered learning. In addition to these titles, he has authored or contributed to other education books, including Because of a Teacher and Because of a Teacher 2.
