George Lopez

George Lopez is a comedian, actor, and author who has expanded into children’s literature with the middle-grade fantasy novel ChupaCarter, inspired by his own childhood and Latinx folklore. He previously wrote the autobiography Why You Crying?: My Long, Hard Look at Life, Love, and Laughter, recounting his rise from a difficult childhood in poverty to success in stand-up comedy and television.

Lopez is widely recognized for cocreating, writing, producing, and starring in the ABC sitcom George Lopez, and for a long career in stand-up that established him as a prominent Latino figure in American comedy.
