George Theoharis
George Theoharis, Ph.D., is a professor of educational leadership and inclusive elementary/early childhood education at Syracuse University. His background includes extensive experience as a K–12 principal and teacher, and he has also served as department chair, associate dean for urban education partnerships, and director of field relations at Syracuse.
His research and scholarship focus on equity, justice, diversity, inclusion, leadership, and school reform, with particular attention to inclusive education and teacher preparation. He is a coauthor of Five Practices for Equity-Focused School Leadership (2021) and has also coauthored books including What Every Principal Needs to Know to Create Equitable and Excellent Schools, The Principal’s Handbook for Leading Inclusive Schools, and Leadership for Increasingly Diverse Schools.
