Georgina Rivera
Georgina Rivera is a mathematics educator, coach, author, presenter, and school leader with more than two decades of experience in K–8 mathematics education. She has served as a middle school mathematics teacher, K–5 math coach, elementary STEM supervisor, and school administrator, including principal of Charter Oak International Academy, an IB school in West Hartford, Connecticut. Her work focuses on equity in mathematics, collective teacher efficacy, culturally relevant pedagogy, and teacher leadership.
Rivera is a co-author of Answers to Your Biggest Questions About Teaching Elementary Math: Five to Thrive (Corwin Mathematics Series) and has also contributed to Math by the Book: Grade 1, the Reveal Math K–5 and 6–8 textbook series (McGraw Hill), and Culturally Relevant Mathematics Leadership. She presents nationally and serves on several boards and advisory groups related to mathematics education, including roles with the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, EdReports’ Math Advisory, Math Teacher’s Circle for Social Justice, and other professional learning organizations.
