Gina Pepin
Dr. Gina Pepin is an elementary reading intervention teacher in Escanaba, Michigan, with over 20–25 years of K–12 classroom experience. She holds an Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership, an MS in Reading & Literacy K–6, and a post‑graduate certificate in Reading, Literacy, and Assessment, and has served as a K–3 reading specialist and intervention coordinator for Escanaba Area Public Schools. She was recognized as Region 1 Michigan Teacher of the Year for both 2018–2019 and 2023–2024, reflecting her leadership in early literacy and teacher development.
Pepin is the co‑author, with children’s author Eric Litwin, of the professional learning book The Power of Joyful Reading: Help Your Young Readers Soar to Success! (Scholastic, 2020), which offers research‑ and theory‑based strategies to create joyful, engaging shared reading experiences for children from pre‑kindergarten through early elementary grades. In addition to her K–12 work, she has taught graduate‑level literacy courses as an online adjunct instructor for Grand Canyon University and a contingent adjunct instructor for Northern Michigan University, and has contributed publications on teacher leadership and online adjunct instruction.
