Greg Kushnir

Greg Kushnir is a Canadian educational leader, consultant, and author with more than three decades of experience in public education, specializing in oral language, reading, and writing disabilities. He has served as a high school and middle school teacher, middle school assistant principal, and K–6 principal, including work as principal of Esther Starkman School in the Edmonton Public School District. Kushnir holds a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education in special education and teaching from the University of Alberta.

Since 2005, Kushnir has worked with superintendents, principals, and teachers across North America, providing professional development focused on Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and evidence-based literacy practices. He is a full-time educational consultant and Solution Tree associate, known for helping schools translate theory and research into practical strategies that improve learning for all students. Kushnir has been nominated multiple times for educational excellence in Alberta and has received recognition including an Alberta ASCD Award for Innovative Practice and a nomination for the Learning Partnerships Award of Excellence as one of Canada’s outstanding principals. He is coauthor, with George K. Georgiou, of Better Together: Blending the Science of Reading and Professional Learning Communities at Work®, a comprehensive guide to collaborative, evidence-based reading instruction.
