Haley Pessin

Haley Pessin is a socialist activist and writer living in Queens, New York. They are the co‑editor of Voices of a People’s History of the United States in the 21st Century: Documents of Resistance and Hope, 2000–2023, published by Seven Stories Press, which gathers more than 100 texts from contemporary social movements and struggles for social and economic justice. Their writing has appeared in New Politics and Tempest, where they serve on the editorial board, and they are a member of the Tempest Collective.

Pessin has participated in organizing and advocacy against police brutality and mass incarceration, in solidarity with Palestine, in defense of abortion rights and reproductive justice, and as a legal services worker and union delegate for 1199SEIU. They have spoken at conferences in Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, Quebec, and across the United States on the struggle for Black liberation.
