Hans Wilhelm

Hans Wilhelm is a German-born, German-American children’s book author and illustrator who has written and/or illustrated over 200 picture books, many of which have been translated into more than twenty or thirty languages and have sold tens of millions of copies worldwide. He was born on September 21, 1945, in Bremen, Germany, studied business and art in Bremen, and later lived for many years in Africa (including South Africa) before eventually immigrating to the United States, where he settled in Connecticut, specifically in the town of Weston, with his wife, artist Judy Henderson.

Wilhelm is best known for classic and popular titles such as I’ll Always Love You, as well as series including Bunny Trouble, Tyrone the Horrible, Waldo, Noodles, and the Dinofours books with Steve Metzger. His work has received numerous international awards and is represented in major children’s literature collections and museums in North America, and several of his books have been adapted into animated television series.
