    Heather Staker

    Heather Staker is an American researcher, author, and consultant specializing in K–12 blended and student‑centered learning. She is co‑author of Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools, a practical field guide for implementing blended learning in schools, written with Michael B. Horn and published by Wiley. She has also co‑authored The Blended Workbook and the report How to Create Higher Performing, Happier Classrooms in Seven Moves: A Playbook for Teachers.

    Staker has served as a senior research fellow in the education practice at the Clayton Christensen Institute (formerly Innosight Institute), focusing on applying disruptive innovation theory to education. Earlier in her career she was a member of the California State Board of Education under Governor Pete Wilson and worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company and a sales manager for Procter & Gamble. She is the founder and president of Ready to Blend, a training and consulting organization that helps schools implement blended‑learning models, and has led a large network of facilitators delivering workshops to teachers in the United States and internationally. Staker holds a BA magna cum laude in Government from Harvard College and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
