Hee-Joon Kim

Hee-Joon Kim is a co-author of _Mathematical Argumentation in Middle School: The What, Why, and How_, a step-by-step guide that provides middle school teachers with activities, games, and lesson-planning tools to support students’ engagement in mathematical argumentation. In this work, Kim and co-authors Jennifer Knudsen, Harriette S. Stevens, Teresa Lara-Meloy, and Nicole Shechtman outline a four-part model of mathematical argumentation—generating cases, conjecturing, justifying, and concluding—to help teachers structure rich classroom discourse around determining what is mathematically true or false.
