Hill M. Walker, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Special Education at the University of Oregon and Co-Director of the Institute on Violence and Destructive Behavior. He is also a Senior Research Scientist at the Oregon Research Institute and has spent his career studying school-related behavior disorders, with a focus on at-risk students in grades K–12, especially preschool and elementary students.
Walker has authored or coauthored more than 20 books and over 200 publications, including Solutions to Critical Behavioral Issues in the Classroom, Antisocial Behavior in School: Strategies and Best Practices, and Safe and Healthy Schools: Practical Prevention Strategies. His work includes the development of the Systematic Screening for Behavior Disorders procedure and the First Step Early Intervention Program.
