Huda Essa

Huda Essa is an educator, cultural proficiency consultant, and author focused on equity, diversity, and inclusive learning environments. She is the founder of Culture Links, LLC, a multiservice organization that provides cultural proficiency consulting, keynotes, and interactive learning opportunities for educators from preK–12 through higher education, as well as professionals in business and nonprofit sectors. A former teacher and multilingual education specialist, Essa is also a TEDx speaker, known for her talk “Your Name is the Key!” on the significance of names and identity.

Essa is the author of The Consciously Unbiased Educator, a 2024 professional resource that guides educators in recognizing and addressing unconscious bias to drive meaningful change in schools. She also writes culturally affirming children’s literature, including Teach Us Your Name (2016), which explores the importance of respecting students’ names and identities, and Common Threads: Adam’s Day at the Market, published by Sleeping Bear Press. In addition, she has authored the children’s book Courtesy is Kindness.
