Huy Q. Chung
Huy Q. Chung is a project scientist and Director of Research with the UCI Writing Project in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine, where his work focuses on literacy and writing instruction, particularly for adolescent learners and English learners. He earned his Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Irvine in 2016.
Chung serves as an associate editor of _Writing Instruction Across the Disciplines: Evidence-Based Practices in Grades 6–12_, published by Guilford Press, and has coauthored chapters in this volume on strategies for teaching writing to foster critical thinking and on teaching counterarguments for improved historical reasoning and civic discourse. His research is closely tied to the Pathway Project, a long-running UCI initiative that uses a cognitive strategies approach to improve students’ analytical reading and writing, where he contributes to advancing and scaling evidence-based literacy practices.
