Jack Baldermann

Jack Baldermann is an educational leader with more than 30 years of experience as a principal, superintendent, author, and consultant, known for his work with high-poverty and priority schools and the PLC at Work® process. He has led multiple schools and districts, including service as principal of Westmont High School in Illinois, where he and his team earned the DuFour Award for the nation’s top professional learning community in 2020 and a National Blue Ribbon School designation in 2021. Baldermann was named Illinois Principal of the Year in 2017 and was a finalist for National Principal of the Year in 2018. In 2023 he was appointed superintendent of Westmont Community Unit School District 201.

Baldermann has supported several high-poverty schools in becoming Model PLC at Work® schools and has worked with school systems in 47 states and Canada on implementing professional learning communities and improving student achievement. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science and English from the University of St. Francis, a Master of Science in English from Loyola University, and a Master of Science in educational administration from Saint Xavier University, and he has pursued doctoral study in educational leadership at the University of Illinois.
