Jackie Acree Walsh
Jackie Acree Walsh is an independent educational consultant and author based in Montgomery, Alabama, who partners with educators across the United States to enhance teaching and leadership in classrooms, schools, and districts through the use of quality questioning. She began her career as a high school social studies teacher and has since worked at multiple levels of education, focusing her writing and consulting on questioning practices that support both student and adult learning. Walsh holds an A.B. in political science from Duke University, an M.A.T. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Ph.D. in education administration and supervision from the University of Alabama.
Walsh is the author or coauthor of multiple books and numerous articles on effective questioning, including Leading Through Quality Questioning: Creating Capacity, Commitment, and Community and Thinking Through Quality Questioning: Deepening Student Engagement, both coauthored with Beth Dankert Sattes. Her broader body of work on questioning includes Quality Questioning: Research-Based Practice to Engage Every Learner (1st and 2nd editions), Questioning for Classroom Discussion: Purposeful Speaking, Engaged Listening, Deep Thinking, Questioning for Formative Feedback: Meaningful Dialogue to Improve Learning, and Empowering Students as Questioners.
