Jackie Owens Wilson
Jackie Owens Wilson is an educator, leadership coach, and author whose career in education spans roughly five decades. She has served in multiple PK–12 roles, including classroom teacher, literacy specialist and coach, school administrator, assistant principal, and principal in Delaware’s Indian River School District. After retiring from the public school system, she worked as Program Coordinator for Southern Delaware at Wilmington University. She later became an assistant professor in a school of education, teaching and advising graduate students in Ed.D. and M.Ed. programs.
Wilson has also held significant leadership roles in educational policy and leadership development, including service as Director of Professional Accountability at the Delaware Department of Education, where she oversaw licensure and certification, educator preparation program quality, professional development, and school leadership. She directed the Delaware Academy for School Leadership (DASL) from 2010 to 2022 and currently serves as Executive Director of the National Policy Board for Educational Administration, focusing on educational leadership preparation. Wilson is co-author of the second edition of Blended Coaching: Supporting the Development and Supervision of School Leaders, published in 2023, which provides a framework and strategies for coaching-based supervision of school leaders.
