Jacqueline Heller

Jacqueline Heller is an educational consultant, author, literacy coach, and former classroom teacher whose work focuses on building teacher capacity and collective efficacy so all students can learn at high levels. She coauthored Literacy in a PLC at Work®: Guiding Teams to Get Going and Get Better in Grades K–6 Reading and What about Us?: The PLC Process for Grades PreK–2 Teams, and has also been published in the Journal of Literacy Research.

Heller spent most of her career in Fairfax County Public Schools, where she worked as a classroom teacher, reading recovery teacher, instructional coach, interventionist, and literacy leader. According to her author biography, she helped Mason Crest Elementary become the first National Model Professional Learning Community to receive the DuFour Award, earned a B.S. from the University of Virginia and an M.Ed. from George Mason University, and is pursuing a PhD in education with an emphasis in literacy and change management.
