James Buckley Jr.

James Buckley Jr. is a prolific author of nonfiction for young readers, known especially for his many books on sports and history, including numerous titles in the bestselling Who Was...? and Who HQ series. He has written well over 150–200 books for children on topics ranging from baseball, football, and soccer to major historical figures and events, and he is the author of Who Is Lionel Messi? and its Spanish edition, ¿Quién es Lionel Messi? (Who Is Lionel Messi? Spanish Edition). A former editor at Sports Illustrated and the National Football League, Buckley lives in Santa Barbara, California, where he runs a book-producing company (often referred to as Shoreline Publishing Group) and continues to create accessible, fact-focused nonfiction for young readers.
