James Rickabaugh
James Rickabaugh is an education leader and author known for his work on personalized learning. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Institute for Personalized Learning (i4PL), an education innovation lab focused on transforming public education through personalized learning models. He previously served as the Director of the Institute for Personalized Learning and has more than 30 years of experience in educational leadership, including service as superintendent in multiple school districts in Wisconsin and Minnesota, such as Whitefish Bay Schools, the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District, and the Oconomowoc Area School District. He has been recognized as Superintendent of the Year in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Rickabaugh is the author of Tapping the Power of Personalized Learning: A Roadmap for School Leaders, published by ASCD in 2016, which presents a research-based framework for implementing personalized learning in schools. He is also co-author of Five Levers to Improve Learning: How to Prioritize for Powerful Results in Your School, extending his focus on effective school leadership and instructional improvement.
