James Simons

James Simons is an educator, school leader, and consultant who co‑authored Leaders of the Class: Units for Teaching Motivation, Perseverance, Communication, and Collaboration in the Secondary Classroom with Maureen Chapman, published by Solution Tree in 2025. He is co‑founder of Cor Creative Partners, a Boston-based organization that provides practical professional development for educators focused on integrating leadership skill development—motivation, perseverance, communication, and collaboration—into everyday classroom learning.

Prior to co‑founding Cor Creative Partners, Simons worked in multiple K–12 roles, including high school principal, dean of students, instructional coach, and middle and high school English teacher. In addition to his book, he has written education articles for outlets such as Edutopia, Inside Higher Ed, and MiddleWeb, sharing research-informed strategies for building student leadership and engagement.
