Jamila Dugan
Dr. Jamila Dugan is an educator, leadership coach, and author who coauthored Street Data: A Next-Generation Model for Equity, Pedagogy, and School Transformation with Shane Safir. She began her career as a teacher in Washington, D.C., later coached new teachers in Oakland, and served as a school administrator focused on equity-centered student services and parent empowerment; she also co-led the development of the first public Mandarin immersion middle school in the Bay Area.
Dugan’s academic background includes a doctorate in Education Leadership for Equity from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fresno State University. She continues to work as an equity-centered leadership development coach across education and public service settings.
