Janet Malone is an educator and coauthor of the professional development resource Taking Action: A Handbook for RTI at Work™, first published by Solution Tree Press in 2017, alongside Austin Buffum and Mike Mattos. In this work, the authors outline how schools can design and implement a response to intervention (RTI) framework—now often described as a multitiered system of supports (MTSS)—to ensure that student learning needs are addressed systematically across three tiers of intervention.
Malone is also listed as a coauthor of the second edition of Taking Action: A Handbook for RTI at Work™, with Mike Mattos, Austin Buffum, Luis F. Cruz, Nicole Dimich, and Sarah Schuhl, which updates and expands the RTI at Work model to address contemporary challenges in student learning and schoolwide intervention systems.
