Janet Nuzzie

Janet D. Nuzzie is a mathematics educator and instructional specialist with more than 25 years of experience supporting teachers and students across campus, district, regional, state, and national levels. She currently serves as a District Intervention Specialist for K–12 mathematics in Pasadena Independent School District in Texas, and previously worked as an instructional specialist for Kindergarten–Grade 4 mathematics in the same district. Nuzzie holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership.

She is the coauthor of A Teacher’s Guide to Math Workshop (Heinemann, 2023), written with Nicki (Roberta M.) Newton and Alison J. Mello, which provides a practical framework for implementing math workshop in K–5 classrooms. Nuzzie also coauthored Mathematizing Your School: Creating a Culture for Math Success, which focuses on integrating engaging, school-wide math instruction.
