Janet Stramel

Janet Stramel is a professor of teacher education at Fort Hays State University and a specialist in mathematics education for early childhood and K–12 learners. She is the author of the open educational resource Mathematics Methods for Early Childhood, published by Fort Hays State University in 2021, which focuses on effective approaches to teaching mathematics to young children.

Stramel is a co-author of The Well-Rounded Math Student: Leveraging Math Practices to Build Next Generation Skills, a 2025 textbook designed to help K–12 mathematics teachers integrate the Standards for Mathematical Practice with students’ social and emotional skill development.
