Jared Scherz
Dr. Jared Scherz, PhD, MEd, is a clinical psychologist, author, and consultant who has worked with educators for over 30 years. He earned a master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) from Penn State University, after which he worked as an elementary school counselor, and later completed a PhD in psychology. Scherz has operated a wholeness center for many years, providing individual, group, couples, and family therapy, and has developed prevention and intervention programs for adults focused on resilience, including a tool to assess a “resilience quotient” (RQ). He is also the founder and CEO of TeacherCoach, a company that builds educational wellness ecosystems for schools and communities.
Scherz is the author of Whole School Health Through Psychosocial Emotional Learning (Corwin, 2021), which outlines steps to improve whole-school health through psychosocial emotional learning for PreK–12 settings. He has written multiple other books, including How to Succeed in Therapy. In his work with TeacherCoach and in his writing, he focuses on educator wellness, organizational health, and integrating personal growth with professional development for faculty.
