Jason Cowley is a National Board–Certified English language arts teacher and former instructional coach with more than eighteen years of classroom experience. He has also served as a National Board facilitator for eight years, supporting other educators in the certification process. Cowley works as a high school ELA teacher and lives with his wife and children in Vancouver, Washington.
Cowley is the coauthor of Future-Ready Teaching With AI: Unlocking Student Potential in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (Corwin, 2025), written with Aaron Blackwelder. In addition to his work on AI in education, he has extensively studied how assessment practices impact student learning and has collaborated with educators on integrating generative AI into classrooms and on ways teachers can use AI to support their professional work.
