Jayne Ellspermann
Jayne Ellspermann is a nationally recognized school leader and education consultant with more than three decades of experience in public education. She has served in multiple roles including teacher, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator, spending about 25 years as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in Marion County, Florida. Ellspermann holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in education from the University of Florida.
As principal of West Port High School in Ocala, Florida, Ellspermann led major school improvement initiatives, including the “PowerHour” program that contributed to sharp increases in graduation rates, activity participation, and academic success, and helped the school attain and sustain an A rating and a 98% graduation rate in her final year as principal. She has been honored as Florida’s Principal of the Year, Florida’s Arts Administrator of the Year, Florida’s Literacy Leader of the Year, and was named 2015 National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), later serving as president of NASSP as well as of the Florida Association of Secondary School Principals and the Florida Association of School Administrators.
