Jean Freyer Schedler

Jean Freyer Schedler, Ph.D., is an educational consultant and reading specialist who partners with schools to design and implement sustainable reading workshops and school-based literacy programs. Her work focuses on the intersection of reading curriculum, professional learning, and support for students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties, and she has worked with schools, training centers, and educational organizations at both national and international levels. She is a former International Dyslexia Association (IDA) branch president, and her professional experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, reading director in a private school for students with special needs, adjunct professor, and teacher trainer across grade levels.

Schedler holds a Ph.D. in Reading/Dyslexia (Cognitive Development and Reading Comprehension) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a contributing author to Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills, coauthoring the chapter “Planning Multisensory Structured Language Lessons and the Classroom Environment,” which provides guidance on effective classroom environments and lesson planning for multisensory structured language instruction.
