Jean-Jacques Degroof

Jean-Jacques Degroof is a Belgian author, venture investor, and academic focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the commercialization of academic research. He earned degrees from the Catholic University of Louvain and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the MIT Sloan School of Management. His experience spans financial services, academia, and venture investment, including work with technology startups in the United States and Europe.

Degroof is the author of From the Basement to the Dome: How MIT’s Unique Culture Created a Thriving Entrepreneurial Community (MIT Press, 2021), a study of MIT’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and its development over time.
