Jeanne A. Schopf

Jeanne A. Schopf, M.Ed., NBCT, C-SLDI, is a literacy expert and educational leader with more than 35 years of experience in public education. She is the editor and contributing author of Reading Isn’t Optional: Fulfilling the Promise of Literacy for Secondary Students (Maximize Secondary Literacy with Evidence-Based Practices), a book that brings together leading literacy experts to address adolescent reading instruction in grades 6–12. Over her career, Schopf has served as an elementary and middle school teacher, literacy coach, reading specialist, and certified dyslexia interventionist (K–12), and she is known for providing research-based professional development grounded in MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and the science of reading.

Schopf is also a motivational keynote speaker, literacy consultant, and founder of Pathways Towards Literacy, through which she partners with schools and leaders to implement evidence-based literacy practices and build educator capacity. Her work on adolescent literacy and system-level supports for struggling readers has been featured in podcasts and professional learning series, including EDVIEW360 and other education-focused programs that highlight what secondary students “really need” to become successful readers.
