Jeffrey Chen Shih
Jeffrey C. Shih, Ph.D., is a professor of elementary mathematics education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he joined the faculty in 1999. He earned a B.A. in statistics with a minor in physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in social research methodology/quantitative methods from UCLA; his research has focused on curriculum effects on student achievement and frameworks of rational number understanding for preservice teachers.
Shih is a coauthor of Classroom-Ready Rich Math Tasks, Grades K-1: Engaging Students in Doing Math and has published in JRME and Teaching Children Mathematics.
