Jeffrey K. Smith
Jeffrey K. Smith is a professor and former dean of the College of Education at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and his PhD from the University of Chicago, and he previously taught at Rutgers University for 29 years, where he served as chair of the Educational Psychology Department and associate dean of the Graduate School of Education.
Smith has also served as a consultant to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he led the Office of Research and Evaluation. His published work includes more than 100 research articles and numerous books on assessment and the psychology of aesthetics, including The Cambridge Handbook of Instructional Feedback and Instructional Feedback: The Power, the Promise, the Practice.
